DatacomIT wishes to extend our warmest congratulations to Melanie Rush and Tanya Jen at Ipswich Libraries, as well as Pamela Langridge, Jacinta Ward, and the team at Western Downs Regional Council, for their outstanding achievement in being awarded the QPLA Innovation in Heritage Services award in both categories for their Recollect sites. We are incredibly proud to have collaborated with both councils in the successful implementation of their Recollect platforms.
The award provides recognition for the high-quality heritage programs and services provided by public libraries, IKC’s and RLC’s across Queensland.
Ipswich Libraries – Defining Tulmur Project
The QPLA Innovation in Heritage Services awards for councils with a population above 35,000 went to the Picture Ipswich Defining Tulmur project, which identifies and tells the stories missing from the accepted Ipswich story, as well as re-examining well known stories in a wider context through this new interpretative layer.

Western Downs Regional Council – Picture Western Downs
The QPLA Innovation in Heritage Services awards for councils with a population under 35,000 went to Picture Western Downs – a digital collection of local historical photographs, an excellent source for local history research, school assignments and for people wanting to see how the Western Downs looked in the ‘old days’.

These awards are a testament to the forward-thinking approach of Ipswich Libraries and Western Downs Regional Council in utilising Recollect to share cultural heritage. It has been a privilege to be part of this journey, and we look forward to continuing our mission of empowering organisations with state-of-the-art collection management and engagement, and digital preservation solutions.
